Therapist Experience

A Home Created by Someone Who Understands Recovery

I am currently a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist under supervision since 2022 as well as two years part time during 2012-2013. During this tenure I have diagnosed and worked with varying mental health issues to include ADHD, SUD, PTSD, BPD, etc. I was EMDR/ EMDRIA trained in 2024, currently working toward certification. I am also CPRS trained, and an advocate for CPRS certification.

Lived Experience

A Journey of Resilience & Recovery

I have 10 years in recovery, having experienced 5 private facilities to include detox, residential, PHP, IOP, sober living and re entry. I also attended Teen Challenge and spent 6 total months in county jail. I have lived experience in losing finances, family and relationships and the long grueling process of promoting restoration. I am not a meeting thumper or a 12 step worshiper, although I have done all of those and believe the Big Book and the Steps are an excellent tool for recovery. I am a HUGE advocate for mental health care and I currently have a therapist myself. I am a breast cancer survivor, I have lived through a divorce after 31 years of marriage. I have survived congestive heart failure. I am an author and I have written a theory of recovery named “US” theory which I intend to have published.
